Just received a message on one of my HR10-250's re DST. It was pretty involved and suggested resetting the manual recordings as they would be affected by the new DST. It also said that the "new" software wouldn't become active until 4/1. I have 6.3c on both of my HR10-250's. Message also indicated that the time would be off by one hour until 4/1 and that this was merely "cosmetic."

I really hope this doesn't mess with my HR10s. They have been rock solid except one or two missed recordings on 6.3a. No problems since but this new "update" has me worried.

I just got the same message. I also have 6.3c and thought that was supposed to resolve this. Anyone know what the deal is?

They are just telling you to connect your TiVos to a phone line so that the DST fix gets installed. Go back and read it carefully, the 4/1 date was mentioned because if you have manual recordings set that you need to change them to an hour earlier until 4/1. If you have the software versions installed, you are good.

There have been a whole lot of threads concerning DST on all of the various forums here.

If you have 6.3c, you're fine.

Cool, Thanks. I got 6.3c a while ago and thought it was for the DST now this message appears and I'm thinking I have to plug all my DTivos back in again.

OT...I used to have them plugged in all the time but they would randomly pick up the phone line throughout the day and dial. My wife works from home and during a call they would interrupt and try to make a call. Othertimes I would see the "in use" light on on our phone base and there are no phones off the hook and picking up a line would give me an ear full of computer squealling/beeping. This happened several times a day...in the middle of the day not at night. So I just unplugged them...and no more random calls.

While I appreciate your response I don't think you really read the OP (or mine for that matter). We are completely aware of what the message is saying but it is misleading to those who already have 6.3c installed, since we were lead to believe this DST fix is what 6.3c was created for in the first place.

If you have 6.3c, you're fine.
And that is what I thought. They really need to re-visit the wording of those messages. The message was received on 3/7, but I've had 6.3c since about 1 week after it was released (mid february maybe). I guess I assumed some logic would be applied to the message sending process (only send it to those to whom it applies)....but I suppose thats major wishful thinking on my part.

Thanks for the confirmation.

In the HR10-250 setup, there is a setting to check whether the phone line is in use before dialling. If you turn this on, it will not dial out unless it detects a free line.

I don't recall DirecTV telling us that 6.3C was to correct for the DST date change - I believe that this came from the suppositions of forum users, who may or may not have unofficial connections within DirecTV. The on-screen message clearly states that the version 6.3 or later will make the proper correction.

I actually got a phone call about this which annoyed me to no end. I am supposed to be on their "do not call" list. About a year ago I ordered a UFC PPV when we had friends over and since that time I got a phone call advertising each UFC as it comes up. They put me on DNC months ago but I still got this one.

Yes, and that link clearly says 6.3 or later, not 6.3c
