I let my boxes dial in yesterday so that they could get the DST patch. The machine that's having a problem is a DSR6000 with a 250gig drive in it.
Now when I try to watch some stuff that's on the now playing list I get, Error playing a recording. The recorder was not able to record this program because there was no video signal on the channel....
This is happening to shows that were already there. I had watched half of a movie the other night, so I know it's there. Now I get this message that it wasn't recorded.
I think it might have something to do with the size of the drive I'm using, but I'm not sure how to fix it. I did the install with InstantCake. I need to get it working, but don't want to lose all of the stuff I have sitting in there now.
thanks

Is there any help in the upgrade/hacking forum?

Did you put an LBA-48 kernel back on the DSR6000 after the upgrade to 3.5b? You could have some corruption problems if you didn't...

No, I didn't...
I'm actually downloading the ISO right now. I wish I wouldn't have deleted the shows that Tivo said didn't exist anymore...
Oh well...
Hopefully, I'll have things better soon.

OK - so just this morning, my GXCEB0T rebooted when I deleted a program I watched. I thought that maybe I'd gotten the 3.5b update, so I checked the revision, and it is 3.5b. Now, whenever I go to the "Now Playing" list, the box reboots. I did an Instant Cake upgrade earlier this year. Is the problem with the LBA48 support?
Thanks for an assistance...

Ok, I can confirm that the LBA48 upgrade is needed after the 3.5b update.

I used the LBA48 tool to replace the kernel (I used 3.1). After rebooting, I was able to see my recordings, and play a recorded show. However, I could not acquire data from the satellite until I re-ran the guided setup. After I re-ran the setup, I was able to acquire data from the satellite and see live TV again. However, when I went back to the now playing list, the TiVo rebooted again. I didn't hook up the phone line to the box. The software revision still shows as 3.5b
What did I do wrong? Did I not actually replace the kernel? The CDROM was the primary master, with the TiVo drive as the secondary master.

I thought I had done everything right - T60 with LBA48 kernel - made sure that the LBA48 kernel survived - then put the no encryption patch in the new Tivoapp - and an hour later - GSOD Severe Error. What the heck is going on with this DST thing?
And then the power supply blew... so until I get another power supply or another T60 from the thrift store, I'm not going to know the end to the story... jeez.
I think I'm going to look at the HD upgrade deals...

Yesterday I received the DST Patch from Directv.
Now I have a problem on my DSR6000 unit to, but it is a different problem.
When I go into System Information, it says my account is closed! And to call Directv. So calling them they are telling me, No the Account is in good standing. They are telling me I am wrong when i am sitting in front of my TV telling them what is on the Screen....lol.
Also, I now have no recording ability at all. It is saying no DVR service and to call Directv again to activate? Thing is, On my account it has DVR Service active.
Anyways, Monday the technician is coming out, installing a New Dish (Current ones are only 1 Month old) and replacing all DVR's with R15's, and all standard recievers with D12's. Also re-wiring the whole house again...lol.
Dont you just love Technology...lol :D

Mine said this until I re-ran the guided setup.

The DST upgrade has broken two of my directivos, after forcing a daily call yesterday. My SAT-T60 is dead and says "cannot boot kernel". My Hughes box is now corrupted and has a "error playing a recording" on all shows. These boxes both have hard drives that are less than six months old. The both crapped out on the same day last time they took a Direct TV upgrade. I'm just sick. Any advice???

Did you hack the drives?
Did you read the posts about about the LBA48 kernel tool?
Does this apply to you?
