Makes first connection asks question is video showing on screen?
No

Message connection is wrong

Try to continue wants to make another phone call to update.
Cannot make secound call.

I knoow SD-H400 can not record digital programing.

I am trying to record only the analog channels

Try saying "Yes I see video", and wait for it to finish the downloads (assumes it succeeds).

The go into Live TV and try changing channels. or go into settings and changing source and confirming it is expecting an RF/cable input (analog of course)

Thanks it took three or four tries to make each of the two required connection but seems to be working fine now.
