View Full Version : Failed While Configuring (Daily call to update for DST)

I have an HR10-250 still running 3.1.5f-01-2-357 which has been working well all along.

Now I need to let the machine update for the DST fix. I plugged a phone line into the machine for the first time in forever.

I select "Make Daily Call" and the machine does the "Preparing to Call" all the way to "Configuring" (which is after "Connecting") and then returns the message:

"Failed while configuring"

I may need to allow updates, but I don't remember what to do or how, or it may be something else.

Anyone want to help diagnose my issue/get Tivo working for Sunday prior to my wife decapitating me?

just go through it again.
if that fails do a restart and then try again.
if that fails leave the phone line connected and see if it will do it on it's own during the night.

I was just having the same exact problem with the same PVR model and software version. I thought it was hopeless, and then I just changed the number I use to dial. Voila! It works now.

Yes, I too changed to dial up number and it worked.

It's bizarre, though, since the 'wrong' number still connected with a computer.
