Don't know if everyone got one, but I got an email this PM from D* re: the time change this Sunday, with a link a page on their site explaining what will happen to various units. From what I gather, Series 1 units will just have to deal with the wrong time for two weeks.

Not sure what email you're referring to .... can you post it here?

The DirecTV/Tivo Series 1 DVRs (Sony SAT-T60, etc) are getting a software update this week (3.5b) to deal with DST. It's standalone Series 1 Tivos that are not getting any updates.

Here's a link to the official notice from Tivo, including the updates for ALL DirecTV/Tivo DVRs, including old Series 1 DirecTV/Tivos.

Two..three..who's counting...well, you are, I guess.
Mine is a stand-alone TiVO, not a DirecTV TiVO. Series 1. Sony. Older than dirt.

I didn't get an email, but I just browsed on the DirecTV web site and found the page: http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/global/contentPage.jsp?assetId=P4230002

If your DVR does not install the new software, the DVR will continue to automatically record your Season Pass™ programs and WishList® searches at the correct airtimes without incident, there are two things to note:

1. For the three weeks that follow the new Daylight Savings Time start date 3/11), your DIRECTV DVR with TiVo® Service may display the incorrect time. Again, to be clear, this is only a cosmetic issue and should not affect your Season Pass™ and WishList™ recordings.

2. If you have any MANUAL recordings scheduled between 3/11 and 4/1, you will need to adjust those recordings as appropriate. Here's how:

* From DIRECTV Central, select Pick Programs to Record, then To Do List.

* Locate your Manual Recording (by channel, date, time) and adjust accordingly. E.g. If you have a daily manual recording from 8:00 am - 9:00 am, you will need to change it to 7:00 am - 8:00 am on 3/11. (Quick Tip: If none of the recordings in this list are preceded by the word "Manual", there's nothing further you need to do.)

* On 4/1 (or when your DVR installs the new software) be sure to change it back to its actual time, i.e. 8:00 am - 9:00 am.

That explains it. DirecTV/Tivos don't have this problem. Even the old Series 1 DirecTV/Tivos are being updated to handle DST.

I got a recorded phone call from DTV last night regarding the DST change.

Nothing like the last minute.

I got a pre-recorded from DirecTV this morning, too. Glad to see they're getting the word out.
