Need recomendations for people that copy hard drives for the HR10-250. I have the original 250 gig hard drive and a new 500 gig hard drive and I would like my "now playing list" copied from the 250 gig drive to the 500 gig drive.

Are you not willing to do this yourself? It's quite straightforward. See the Upgrades section for details.

I have a laptop computer. One of the requirements is to have access to an IDE drive. My laptop has a SATA drive. So, can I do an upgrade with a laptop?

OK - So are there companies that can copy one hard drive to another?

Yes, you can use a laptop, if it will boot a CD. The MFS Live (www.mfslive.org) CD supports USB-attached drives, so all you need is USB adapters for the drives. I'll admit I have not tried this on my own laptop but it should work in many cases.
I don't know of companies that offer this as a service. Why not ask your friends with PCs if you can borrow theirs (assuming they don't mind you opening the box.)

Or you could drop the drives off at my house and pick them up when they're done.
When I did mine 250GB --> 750GB it took hours. I wanna say like 8.
See http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=337128 I did mine back in January.
I'm 40 miles pretty much due East of you.
