I've upgraded to 3 new HR20s; in the process of doing so, i've retired 2 H10s HD DVRs and 1 SD DVR; coincidentally, while going through this process, DTV shipped me 2 refurbished HR20s prior to my install with the 3 new HR20s. So i have 5 DVRs 4 of which are HD sitting collecting dust in my dining room. After reading several threads, it seems like i can sell these on ebay. My question to those who have done so:
1. do you include the access card with the unit?
2. is there any risk to privacy about giving out receiver ids or selling these on ebay other than the usual not getting paid?
any advice would be appreciated

I sold my HR10 on EBay no problem.
1. No, don't sell a used access card.
2. No, there are no reasonable risks to privacy. Just reset your Tivo to factory settings.

Make sure they are not considered "Leased" units by DirecTV

Be careful. After being sent 2 HR20-700's (I was supposed to get an HR10) and sending them back, over a month later on my most recent D* bill I have been charged $1,005.64! I called D* to let them know that this was in error, and of course....they have absolutely no record of ever receiving the units back.
Fortunately for me, I had saved the FedEx receipts and had the tracking numbers and had the charges rescinded. How long has it been since the receivers were sent to you?
*Remember too, that once someone calls in to activate with SN's, it might point to whom those units were sent ...and you could be charged at that time.

If they are the HR20's send them back to D*. They know that they sent them to you, and you will be charged once someone tries to activate them. I have read several posts of people who bought them off of ebay and it starts a whole chain of events that generally never turn out well. If you have HR10 DVR's, I think you should be alright, provided that you own them. I would think that the risk of being charged far outweighs the potential benefit of getting 300.00 for a unit that you have a good chance of being charged 300.00 dollars for. Just my opinion.
