Is it possible to disable the second tuner?

I've figured out that my problems are a failing tuner and have ordered a replacement DirectTV TiVo on ebay.

Until I get the replacement, is it possible to shut off one tuner so it doesn't try to schedule recordings on the bad tuner?

Turn off tuner 2 by running Repeat Guided Setup.

goto menu-messages & setup-settings-satellite-repeat guided setup and select just one tuner.
As long as it is tuner #2 this will work. If It is tuner#1 it will not.

If your problems with 2nd tuner are related to these threads, you might try the advice used there

Doh! I was sure my tuner was shot. And didn't bother searching for a solution to that. I swapped cables on the back and the problem stayed with tuner 2. I had been using S-Video for 3 1/2 years. Switching to composite and the thing works.

I guess it's time to start playing with hacks to make my TiVos network with each other. :)
