None of my DTivo's have made a call since February 20. I'm getting an error message saying "Phone is Busy". After a couple hours of troubleshooting here (unplugging everything on any line one at a time), I find it's the local number I'm calling that's not working. I called it with my phone and I got a busy signal. Is there any way to check to see if that is still a good number? It's still being listed as good when I check for new numbers on DirecTV. I hate to change the dial in number on all my Tivo's as it's the only local number available. But, I'll change them if I have to.

If that phone number is not working with a normal phone, try that number from a friend's house to see if it's some other kind of problem. If then it still isn't working, you should call DirecTV and tell them that this local number is no longer working. If you get no satisfaction from them, then call your local phone company and explain that a certain number is always busy. Maybe do that first.

You may need to re-run guided setup and tell your DTivo boxes to use all 10 dialing digits
Some places no longer allow just 123-4567 you need to use 123-456-7890

I assumed, maybe incorrectly, that a busy signal wouldn't be used if 10 digit dialing was now needed. A recording to that affect would be used.

I have two Hughes Tivo's and the local number just stopped working. After posting on here I followed the suggestion of re-establishing the DVR number and instead of calling the assigned number for my area code called a number for the neighboring town which was not a long distance call. Worked like a charm.
I called Direct about this issue and was told your getting programming don't worry about it...

Have the same problem. It works fine making the every-other-week-ish TiVo call - but when it tries to make the DTV call to report PPVs - it doesn't work.
The number works fine when I call it from my phone - however, when my TiVo calls - something goes wrong.
DTV tried to push an R15 down my throat - but I told them no way.
The DTV Customer Service Rep told me that DTV no longer accepts calls from SAT-T60s (a very old box) and that I would have to upgrade.

They accept calls from the old SAT-T60. They even accept calls from the old Sony B65 which is much older than the T60. Just order your PPV on the website and you do not have to worry about the DirecTV call.
