I have a Hughes GXCEBOTD in my spare room in front of my treadmill, anyway the remote has recently stated acting funny. It wont rspond to button pushes unes Iht the button like 1000. It tends to work a little better if you put the remote right next to the unit.

I was using the peanut remote then I changed to a DTV RC32 that came with my HR20 and it worked for a while but now it's acting up again. Batteries have been replace and I have rebooted the unit.

I am running SW 3.5-01-1-031.

Any suggestions?

It real annoying when your running and trying to FF and the buttons won't respons

Be sure that there are no stray infrared signals in the room. This sounds very much like what happens if another remote is stuck in a sofa cushion. Other stray IR sources include sunlight and flourescent lighting.

I am having a similar problem with my Hughes remote. All of a sudden the remote does not work at all. I changed the batteries but the red light at the top flashes very quickly with any buttons I press as if it lost all programming? I there any way to reset the remote back to factory defaults or do I need a new one?
Thanks

Something similar has occasionally happened with my DSR6000 for a few months now. The LED on the DSR6000 flashes when I use the remote, but nothing happens. I get the same result if I use the buttons on the front of the DR6000.

It clears up if I reboot my dtivo, so I figure I have some hardware that's starting to crap out...

One way of "resetting" the remote is to put the batteries in backwards, push a button or two then put the batteries back in correctly.

I also think the directions for resetting the remote is in the MANUAL.:)
