Not sure why I put spoilers in the title, since as a clip show, there really wasn't anything to spoil. It wasn't even a particularly good clip show... it was just a jumble of very quick cuts from the past 6 years, more a montage than anything else. Dr. Cox had some good lines with the interns, but that's about it.
I'd almost say that with tonight's episode, the show has jum... erm, never mind. ;) :D

Agreed. The clips didn't have their same comedic value being put into a blend with a poor musical overlay. The dramatic scenes were done pretty well though.

What happened to McGinley's hair?
You would think that the writer would put more effort into making this season one of the best. Assuming they were still planning to end the series with season 6, instead of with season 7.

Agreed. I forgot just how good the arc was with Cox and Jordan's brother was until they showed that scene again.
What happened to McGinley's hair?
Dunno.... perhaps for his Wild Hogs role? Otherwise, I know his hair has been thinning, maybe he just decided to screw it all and cut it off? I guess if he was going to do that, a clean completely bald shave would probably look better, I think.

What happened to McGinley's hair?
That's what I wanted to know. Seems like they missed some major comedy potential by not acknowledging it.

I love this show, but that was incredibly awful. Amazing how taking funny stuff out of context makes it all stupid, and taking the touching moments out of context makes them meaningless.
What a horrible idea for THIS to be the first ep not up against CSI & Grey's in months...

The only funny thing was when they acknowledged that a clip show is a tool of lazy sitcom writers.

I enjoyed the Music, I hope they don't mess with it when the shows hit DVD.
I agree that the episode was just allright, I to was reminded how much I liked the episode(s) with Brendan Fraiser.

You know two years ago, when I read rumors here that this show might be cancelled soon, I was aghast. Now, I wish someone would just pull the plug (medical analogy intended). If this crap is all the writers can come up with, let it go NOW!
After the first "fantasy" highlight detour, I rolled over on the couch and went to sleep. My husband watched it all, but I'm the one who set up the SP and I can accidentially delete it and claim "the Tivo messed up..." :D

Yeah I thought that was amusing too but then I remembered, oh crap we're getting a clip show, F me.

Every modern comedy that lasts more than a few years does a clip show eventually. I wish Scrubs were above it, but I can't really blame them for succumbing finally. I was kind of OK with it, although nowadays with DVD sets and rampant syndication, even well-done clip shows can lose a lot of whatever entertainment value they might have had. I've seen every episode they drew from many times now, and so wound up FF'ing through many of the montages as there just weren't any surprises in there for me.

Clerks did a clip show.
In their second episode.
Now THAT was a good clip show joke!

I wonder if in a situation like Scrubs, where they already know the end is near, if a clip show like this is more for them than us. Kinda like flipping through old memories of you and your buddies. Just a thought.

What a waist...I deleted it 10 minutes into the show. I agree with others that the joke skits taken out of context totally lost their humor.

Y'know, I really like Scrubs. But this episode was awful. A complete waste of time. I want my 20 minutes back.

It definitely had that vibe, sort of a montage for the actors and crew.

Awful awful awful. I deleted it before it got to the halfway point.
One thing I did not get is why Earl & the Office were repeats & Scrubs was a newly packaged can of repeats.

Is this a play on the janitor truck backing sound device?
Waist (n) (1) the part of the body in humans between the ribs and the hips, usually the narrowest part of the torso. ...
Waste (v) (1) to consume, spend, or employ uselessly or without adequate return; use to no avail or profit; squander: to waste money; to waste words.
Maybe we should just say it is funny "irregardless"?

Because Earl and The Office have been running since the beginning of the season and need some breaks to get to the end. Scrubs didn't start back until late Dec. or early Jan. so it will be new nearly every week through May.

First time I've ever had FFW on through 95% of a scrubs episode. I don't even do that during reruns. The other 5% was scenes with chalke in lingerie.
"Do you see Carla. Do you see what you get when you mess with the warrior..."
Still my favorite scene in any scrubs.
Don't know why, just the absurdity of it.

Awww don't remind me! That must have been from an EP I didn't see because it didn't look familair. With the scene with her in the nurse outfit and one or two shortly after I told my wife not to let me delete it when we were done because we were watching it on the non-hd living room TV and I wanted to see it on the big 16x9 screen before deleting. But like a good little Tivo monkey I got to the end and said "delete"...grrr.

It wasn't in HD anyway unless my Tivo S3 or TV is borked.

I never said anything about HD.
But if you need the details: I recorded it on my HR10-250 off the local HD NBC. So therefore its 16x9 with pillarbox (digital still mind you which is better than Dtv SD any day). So I was watching it in the living room which means s-video from the HR10-250 which also means output set to 480i. Top all that off with the fact that the Living room TV is a 32" SD TV which means I got quished, down-rezzed video with black bars on the left and right.
So yea, it would have looked better on the other TV.

This was one of the best clip shows of any series ever. I really liked it. I liked the fast pace. Instead of dragging out a dozen memories, then whipped thru the hysterical stuff of the last 6 years. A nice breezy clip show for a change.
But seriously, what's up with Cox's scalp? Did I miss a cancer storyline last week?

We may never know. Bill Lawrence (series creator/showrunner) has said that the one thing he has no control over on the show is what John C. McGinley chooses to do with his hair. McGinley may have just showed up for work one day shorn, of his own volition.

Strike that. I was listening to commentary podcast for this episode and they said we'd find out in an upcoming ep why Cox's head is shaved. (Sadly, they gave no explanation for the clip show itself.)

Note to writers:
Acknowledging that clip shows are the result of lazy writing does NOT give you a pass or make it any more clever.

What's that Hollywood phrase where they acknowledge something preposterous in order to get a free pass on it?

Listening to this episodes podcast, the producer Randall Winston mentioned that Cox's shaved head does work into the storyline and should be explained in the next episode or two.

Will the Cox hair story line be about getting rid of that god awful wig he was wearing? I'm glad he finally realized how ridiculous the mop looked.

FrankI always got a kick out of it ... Just change the tint on the TV and Cox has the same hair as Little Orphan Annie! :p
