For those who don't already know (and yes, I did search before posting), the actor playing Linderman is...

Linderman is Malcolm McDowell. Better known as Alex from A Clockwork Orange and Mr Rourke from the short-lived revival of Fantasy Island, among other roles.

That's exactly who it looked like in the preview. Couldn't place the name of the guy though, but I knew I had seen him before. They need to chill with all the new characters at some point before I start losing interest in more than just Nikki and Micah. Although, lost interest doesn't even begin to describe my hatred for Micah.

I have to assume no one would read this thread if they weren't prepared to be spoiled . . .

If this is true, MM would be an excellent Linderman. He also plays Sloane's father on Entourage. And am I the only person old enough around here to have seen A Clockwork Orange during its original theatrical run? Must have gone a dozen times with me droogies . . .

Great choice. He does well in creepy and powerful roles. Honestly, from the preview, I was a little worried. You can't really tell who it is in the preview, but the "profile" shot did not have me excited.

Well doesn't that throw a million theories out the window :)

If he uses his normal accent, could he be related to anyone on the show?

Although I think the actor has been overused as a quirky villain, I'll have to see how Heroes works with him. So far, the show hasn't disappointed me one bit.

Dr. Who's Dad?

I believe their accents place them as coming from entirely different parts of the UK, but my Yank ears can't really detect it.

Christopher Eccleston is "northern".

The other would be... dunno. Oddly enough, he is uncle to Alexander Siddig, currently playing the terrorist gone good on 24.

...and for those wracking their brains as to where they know that name from, he was Dr Bashir on Star Trek: DS9.

MM was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, which is not that far from Manchester - both in the North of England, but with distinctly different accents (to a Brit at least). He's not known for playing an American character in his previous roles so I think we can assume that he won't start now.

As for Astrohip, you're not alone. I saw it at the movies and on pirate video several times. Kubrick wouldn't release it on video in the UK for the longest time, but I bought a copy on a trip to Seattle in 1995.

The two actors accents are distinct to me, too (not a Brit). I may not be able to place which is from where from their accents but they are for sure different.
