I about puked after the intro to the show..... that was just gross!!

I wonder if Gibbs' new girlfriend is going to end up with a job at NCIS and become the Director's new best friend.

Off topic, a bit, but if a funeral director ever tries to upsell you a casket that's hermetically sealed saying "it retards decomposition and preserves the body better" remember the opening scene and call shenanigans on it and tell him to go take a flying leap.

The opening scene exaggerated a bit, but the body decomposes, the gas pressure in the casket increases, and when the seals finally go, things go "squick" and wind up all over the place. And every funeral director KNOWS this. Those that try to upsell are bunch of slimeballs taking advantage of people not being in their right state of minds, in my opinion. (note: I said, "those that upsell", not ALL funeral directors)

Back on topic, I was wondering how they were going to write in Abby's boyfriend's departure. The actor playing him committed suicide in December. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0318402/ It was interesting to see Abby broken up by the break-up, though the reason given was kinda hokey, IMO.

It also answers the question as to whether Ziva's jogging friend survived.

And boy, what an off kilter pair the two made. Corin Nemec lost a lot of weight. It didn't look good on him, but it looked good for the character.

I hated this episode, because it didn't have the "life" that most NCIS episodes have.

We were even left hanging at the end about who the final victim was, and weren't clued in on how Gibbs knew to let the butcher go and follow her.

I don't think they followed her there. They finally got the location of the van and went to it. Then they found her inside. I don't think they knew she had anything to do with it. They just thought the boyfriend was using her equipment.

I don't know about that. The woman (can't remember her name) seemed surprised, but Gibbs seemed resigned, as if he expected it, but was disappointed that he was right.

anyone else notice this is several weeks in a row with endings that were not "cut and dry"?
I'm enjoying it.. you don't always have to wrap everything up in a neat bow.

OK, she's a butcher, yet she gets sick when they open the freezer and sees some blood. Then later she's in the truck cutting up someone. You just can't figure women out.

How sad. :(

I really enjoyed his performances.

I like the fact that they did do something to write in Marty's disappearance, but I agree, the break-up didn't work for me -- and it doesn't really solve the problem, because (as we can see) there's always the possibility of running into an ex-boyfriend in a later episode.

Killing the character off in some sudden way (do a car accident if you want something innocuous) might have worked better -- and would have allowed for most of the 'sad Abby' things they used in the episode.

She obviously was the killer, knew what was in the freezer , and acted for Gibb's & crew.

Or.

She wasn't the killer, but once she found out what boyfriend was doing, she decided to go along with it.

Thats too bad. He was married to the actress that plays Bethany on Boston Legal.

The reports are that he committed suicide because he couldn't deal with the fact that his wife was more popular than him.

I figured I'd just post this here: Michael Weatherly (Tony) has an interview with the Futon Critic (http://www.thefutoncritic.com/rant.aspx?id=20070227), where he describes NCIS as "Scooby Doo meets M*A*S*H". Apparently he thinks CBS is misrepresenting the show as a serious procedural drama, when promos should be playing up the "fun" of NCIS. Good interview.

Right before they opened the van, the Colonel told Gibbs that he was right about the girl, but then she seemed totally surprised to find her inside the van. So unless the Colonel just made an assumption about what Gibbs was thinking about the girl, then they both apparently still thought she was innocent.

And I call shenanigans on the Tyson's Corner thing (which happens to be my current location (I work there)). That part of the VA license indicates the county or city of residence, and Tyson's Corner is neither. It's an unincorporated commercial and retail area and people do live there, but to my knowledge it's not used as a city for any mailing address, and certainly not as the city/county as in this episode. She did have a Vienna address, which is one of the two "cities" that someone living (or working) in Tyson's would have as a mailing address - the other being McLean - so at least they got that right.

Just a minor nitpick, I'm really not annoyed at it even - it's not like I expect them to use a real existing address and eliminate all nitpicking opportunities. It's more curiousity as to how they actually come up with quasi-fictitious locations like these.
