Are You Watching "Everybody Hates Chris"? Before I had two tuners, I couldn't watch this show. But now that I have two tuners and can finally record it, I've found that this is one of the funniest shows on television. It's about Chris Rock growing up in NYC and his troubles. It's all done from a very humorous perspective and I never fail to get many belly laughs. If you're not watching it, give it a try. :)

I have it on my office TiVo which I use to keep my iPod loaded. It's pretty funny. Jason Alexander as the principal is pretty good too.

I had a season pass for it when it was on UPN but my TiVo never picked up the switch to the CW and I haven't gotton around to setting up a new SP. I loved the show though.

I've had an SP since the middle of the first season. They moved the day the show's on this season, but with my DT, I've been able to pick it up every week. This is one of my favorite shows.

It's consistently one of my most-enjoyed shows. This season (or maybe last season) they added Jason Alexander as the principal, and he's great too. I think my favorite part of the show is when his sister goes off about Billy Ocean inventing the moonwalk.

Sometimes Chris Rock's commentary gets annoying though. I have to ask myself sometimes what it's even there for. Like when someone says something to him and he says, "Yeah!"

Anyway it still gets the thumbs up from me.

This is the only tv show I watch in real time. Directv doesn't give me the CW in HD so I watch it OTA while HIMYM and Prison Break record.

I think the name is a take-off on "Everybody Loves Raymond."

Its good solid entertainment. I have a few episodes queued, which I'll probably watch when I get a little more free time (spring break).

I love this show. Never missed it from the start of the first season. I on the other hand LOVE the Chris Rock commentary. I don't think the show would be as funny without it.

I saw the whole first season, but I always had to download it because of conflicts. This season I just haven't cared enough to download it or watch the eps that get recorded. I just have too many other things that I'm behind on and this just didn't make the cut.

EHC is one of only two shows that make me laugh. Reno 911 is the other one.

Don't they rerun each episode a bunch? Just pick up a different showing.

same here - we watched it regularly last year, but it's on at the same time as HIMYM this year, so the single tuner TIVO can only hadnle that. will probably catch up via DVDs on Netflix.

I've watched it since the beginning, updating my SP to the CW as soon as I had the info.
Fourth funniest sitcom currently-airing new episodes, after My Name is Earl; HIMYM; and Scrubs; in that order.

i dont watch it but can you tell me if they completed telling the story of how the mother was met? Just seems there would be only so many ways to tell and retell that story.

We watch it every week and especially enjoy the tirades of how cheap the dad is, having grown up in households just like that! :D

I love this show also! I recorded it last season on my second TiVo (neither one has a dual tuner) but this season I had neglected to add the CW change to my Season Pass. Then I realized the move to Mondays was conflicting with both HIMYM and Wife Swap (my guilty pleasure show - where else can you see a family who makes a living bottling deer pee to sell to hunters?), so it got neglected... until a few weeks ago when I noticed it was rerunning on my local CW affiliate (Orlando) on Sunday nights at 6:30pm. It's not an old rerun, but the one that just aired the previous Monday. Kind of like how the old WB used to do the "Easy View"s of Gilmore Girls or Charmed, etc. to fill the pre-primetime Sunday schedule. So now I'm a week behind, but I can still catch it. I thought it was worth a mention here so people could check their local schedules, because I re-added the SP and now I'm able to enjoy it. Count me in as also loving the occasional Jason Alexander as the Principal. The Snow Day episode ruled!

It sure did. I think I rewound and rewatched that Run DMC dance sequence about a dozen times. Jason was awesome in that!

My son and I have watched a few episodes. It's OK but not great. Some very good moments. Reminds me of Malcolm in the Middle, another show I watched when there was nothing else in my queue.

Does't it also play on Sundays at 6:30? That's when mine comes on.

I love the dad too, knows the exact amount for everything. I didn't like the mom when she was on Martin but I think she's great in this show.

Funny show.

I watched every episode last season. I watched one or two this season, but then bagged my SP. I dunno, I just got a bit bored and there are SO many other shows I like better.

Actually the part of this show I liked best was the parents. Chris etc. I could take or leave.

I never liked Chris Rock... until I started watching this show. I really love it. It's funny and has a lot of heart. I also love that he recycles old TV stars like Ernest Thomas, Antonio Fargas, and Todd Bridges.

Next to MY NAME IS EARL, it's probably the funniest show on television. Having grown up in Brooklyn during the same time period the show is set in is like revisiting my own childhood.

I stumbled across the show by accident, and now am hooked.

The whole family cracks me up.

Definately one of the funnier shows on, and...no laugh track!!

Great show, but it's on so sporatically and it usually loses the faceoff between that, Prison Break and HIMYM/The Class on my HD DVR (non-Tivo), so I usually have to remember to watch it on the old SD Tivo on my non HD TV.

I'm not sure what you mean by it being on sporadically. It's on just as often as the other shows you mentioned. It has 22 episodes a season just like most other shows.

It just seems like they run it for 3 or 4 weeks, then it's not on for 3-4 weeks and so forth. At least that's my perception.

Give it a chance. It is nothing like his stage act. It's the most realistic show about a poor family trying to make ends meet within the confines of their very dangerous neighborhood. Chris basically just narrates the story, and kind of answers back some of the dialogue of the characters, but other than that, it's about him being a kid and growing up.

I didn't realize it until the very end of the episode last night (on TiVo), but last Friday's episode was the season and series finale for "Everybody Hates Chris." :(

If you're a fan of the show, be sure to watch it if you have it recorded or in reruns. Kinda sad that it's gone now. I like how they wrapped it up. I won't spoil anything, but it ends with an actual event in Chris' life, a turning point.

EHC is the only sitcom I watch. I usually let a handful build up before I watch them. I'll watch my remaining couple this weekend. I think the actress who plays Rochelle should win an Emmy sometimes.
