Hi,
Do we have a "live" video output on the Tivo? I mean, it records on the HD but we can record the signal on another DVR if we want?
If yes, is this signal "permanent" or we have a signal only when the Tivo records???
Stupid question maybe, but I need to be certain before buying!!! :)
Thanks mates,
SM

It's not a good idea to daisy-chain DVRs together.
There is a video out, but it's probably not what you're looking for. It will pass through the video when you put the tivo in "Standby Mode." In standby, you cannot watch anything but Live TV, and it only works with direct coaxial input--- no cable box.
Of course, all outputs put out the video that is currently being watched, which can be Live TV if you want.
Don't daisy chain. There are plenty of other ways to set up multiple tivos. Split the cable signal, for instance.

Sliceman: Tell us why you would want to do that. We may have a solution.

A TiVo always records to the HDD, and always plays back from the HDD.
Whether it is playing back from the live buffer or an existing recording is irrelevant.
Except for the standby feature, if you want to access a video signal before it reached the encoders on a TiVo, you have to intercept the signal outside the box.
