View Full Version : 2nd Update This Weekend?

Did anyone else find their S3's on Sunday morning had rebooted overnight?
I noticed it on BOTH of my S3's -- 30-second skip had to be re-enabled.

I got my 8.1 update on Tuesday of last week.

My version number on both units today is 8.1.1.S1-01-2-648

Power did NOT go out in the home (PC was running fine, clocks weren't blinking).

Actually the S1 version seems to be older

You're right... I read my chicken scratch wrong. I now have 8.1.1-01-2-648 and previously it was 8.1.1.S1-01-2-648

Does anyone know what has changed?

I got the update, too....gives us TTG and MRV, plus eSata support....

You're right... I read my chicken scratch wrong. I now have 8.1.1-01-2-648 and previously it was 8.1.1.S1-01-2-648

Does anyone know what has changed? TivoJerry explained here (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=4888476&&#post4888476) that the "S1" version was what was pushed the first week during the minor switch restricted to a few accounts. Once the big switch was turned on the version number switched to the one without "S1". I doubt there is much if any difference between them.

Since Tivo doesn't say squat about software updates in regards to what they add or fix (which is annoying as hell) it is hard to say what, if anything, changed since the S1 release a week before. I had both the 8.1.1.S1 release and the final 8.1.1 release.
