[AFP1]

I just purchased a New Series 2 DT Unit. I also have a 2 Yr. Old Humax Tivo/Burner.
When I first hooked up my New Unit, after going through Set Up, the next time it "Called Home" for Info, it Updated itself to 8.1A...... From 8.1.0, like my Humax is.
This was a few Weeks ago. Does anyone know why my Humax has not Updated as yet? It is completing the calls each Day normally.
*Also, I will ask again, just for the Hell of it. Nobody has given me any answer so far except for guesses, including Tivo and Humax. I always used -RW Discs to transfer Recordings if I was getting low on space. But now, it will no longer Record on -RW, only on -R. All I get is "Internal Error". I have Cleaned everything, tried new Discs etc. I did have 1 problem cleaning the Lens. I bought a new Maxell Lens Cleaner, and all that did was throw the Tivo into Reset Over and Over until I hit the hidden Button, and got the Cleaner out of the Drive Manually. The only answer I have rec'd was, "It should either Work all ways or none" (OR, Buy a New Unit!)
*Would anyone have any Real answers to both questions?

*FYI - I was just looking at Replacement Remote Controls. They state the less expensive Remotes are not compatible with Humax and others. As I have 1 Humax and 1 Tivo Unit, I just want to let everyone know that the least expensive works just fine on *BOTH Units!
I can only speak for Humax, (*Who also makes All of Tivos Machines!) Unless you want "Glo in the Dark", *Save your Money!

The Tivo system divides all the Tivos eligible for the upgrade into groups and rolls out the software updates to each group as it's turn comes. Your Tivo is in a group that's still waiting.
I didn't think that this sort of thing was that complicated. Apparently I was wrong. I sincerely apologize for overestimating you. It won't happen again.
