Well I have never started a thread....so if I mess up some of the rules don't hang me! On only my HD channels I'm having a very weird problem with my audio. On channel 74 my sound is muddled and only my 2 rear speakers are working on my 5.1(If I turn it up really load I can hear it). This happens on this channel 95% of the time and on other channels like 76 and 83 10% of the time. When watching Lost this past week the sound would be fine until the commercial breaks were it would drop off into the background again and return to normal when the show would start again??...then when the show was over and the previews came on drop off again. I first noticed this problem when I ordered the last UFC Fight(The first one in HD) I called DirecTV and they had no idea what I was talking about. After messing around with some things in the settings area I turned my 5.1 off by changing my sound from Dolby Digital to Dolby Digital to PCM and this mode turns off my surround sound and use's only the front two speakers and the center one. This of course puts a band-aid on the problem because now I can hear it but I lose my 5.1 Surround sound. I had to do this during the whole UFC fight and when I want to watch something on channel 74. This is a HD-250 Box. This never happens on SD channels of course because there not 5.1. So this sucks and is affecting my precious love affair with HD. If you think it's the box I bought it at Costco last year and still can return it for a new one if they still have HD-250 boxs. Any suggestions or answers would be greatly appeciated. Thank you.
