updating my tivo software on my dvr

Hi-

I need some help. I want to transfer my current TiVo recordings onto my computer using an network adapter provided on the tivo website. However, the required network adapter requires a tivo version that I do not have. How do I upgrade my Tivo software from 6.2 to 7.0 so that I can be compatible with the network adapter?

What model TiVo do you have?

If it's a DirecTV TiVo Series2 then 6.2 is the latest software version. You might be able to add some function by hacking the unit with zipper (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=265929).

Tivo Series 2 I believe. :) I think the link you posted containing *the zipper* might be what I need.
