Well it appears that my Tivo is dead :( (Kinda like losing a loved one.)
model is sd-dvr40 series 2
Tested the Hard drive and it works properly. When I power it up it just hang's at the powering up screen, which is displayed on the screen. This leads me to believe that the main board is toast.
Any other opinions?
Can I get a main board if so where?

Stuck on powering up is usually a bad hard drive but it could be a bad power supply or other component, data corruption or damaged software. You can get a pre-imaged drive from weaknees.com, dvrupgrade.com or eBay. All you need is 2 Torx screwdrivers (T-10 and T-15) to replace the drive. Or get any hard drive and use InstantCake (http://www.ptvupgrade.com/products/instantcake/). If it's the power supply you might be able to get a replacement at weaknees.com. If it's the main board it's probably best to get a new unit. If you're not comfortable opening it up and attempting to fix it yourself, send it off for repair to the company here (http://www.ccscorporation.net/PVR_T.htm).

It's was the HD - I made a new one. I have 2 of the same units. The new drive works just fine in the other unit. So that is ruled out. (both drives act the same in the bad unit. The fan spins and the screen lights up- Would that rule out the PSU?
I can hear the HD spinning up as well. But it still just hangs at the powering up screen.
