This is driving me nuts. I am using a wireless d-link router with a Humax 80 TiVo with DVD burner. I can see the TiVo and download files through the web browser with no problem using l=tivo and p=*media access key*. But using TiVo desktop I don't see any files on the TiVo. When I click on "pick programs to xfer" I get the window with nothing listed. What gives? Does the ability to access the TiVo via web browser not imply that my router is configured correctly??
Please help!! I've had this working at one point, but now no matter what I do it doesn't work. I've rolled back to 2.2 from 2.3a and I get the same result. I also have Cisco's VPN on my machine but I've made sure that that service is NOT running...

Cisico VPN has an ALWAY ON firewall component that runs even when it isn't. You may need to configure that to let TiVo Desktop components talk and listen. In the past it has been reported that uninstalling Cisco, getting TiVo Desktop working, and then re-installing it, makes it work right.

Here is a list of ports that TiVo Desktop needs to have open to work...

Been there, done that! Thanks anyway...
Mark, I may have to give that a whirl. I won't be the first problem I've had with that Effin Cisco VPN client. My job uses Nortel and my wife comes along with her Cisco client and they don't get along AT all. I'll have to try it this weekend because the wife won't be happy if I screw up her VPN access. Thanks.

Strange... I have Cisco VPN client 4.0.3(d) on both my laptop and PC and have never had trouble with Desktop on either one. I always have the VPN completely shutdown (exit VPN, not just disconnect) when I'm running Desktop.

Just because its gotten me a few times.. have you checked the TiVo server properties and made sure the network identification is using your local adapter and IP not the cisco VPN?
