I noticed that many MyDVD users were reporting this error:
"Could not make a thumbnail. Make sure you have the appropriate decoder installed. -47010"
I fixed it by uninstalling the latest versions of DivX and XVid and going back to the prior version of each.
Of course, this may or may not work for you. But if you recently updated a particular codec, try going back to an older version and see if the problem is resolved.
