I started a new thread to address this:
After having problems with the Hinsdale Guide (why is it still up and without warnings for the NT/XP/2000 signature issue as well as, 'known' kernal problem and the incorrect command for copying to a disk larger than 300 GB?) I tried MFS Live 1.0 per a suggestion on this board.
I get the same error as I did with Hinsdale, even though I included the -r 4 switches in the command, this is from the Full Guide instructions:
backup -qTao - /dev/hdb | restore -s 128 -r 4 -xzpi - /dev/hda
I am copying my 120 GB image to a new 320 GB unformatted drive, there should be no problem. My drive sizes are being reported correctly during boot up.
If I use the MFS Live ICG it returns:
backup -qTao - /dev/hdb | restore -s 128 -fzi - /dev/hda
with the -r 4 switch missing. f is not a valid option an it clearly needs the x switch to expand to the full drive capacity, so this command is incorrect.
Suggestions?
Does the WeaKness procedure work for sure for a drive bigger than 300 GB?
Thanks....
