Hello all, I have a Series 3 Tivo with Lifetime Service. I want to buy another tivo for my bedroom. But it doesnt have the $6.95 a month option on the tivo website. If I buy it on the tivo site will they just change the bill when I call in? Ive read mixed reviews on this and heard I may have to buy one at a retail store (really dont want to do this and wait for a mail in rebate). Ive also heard something about buying a service gift card to get around it. Let me know what you guys think is the best option? Also tax is more in the retail store due to the price difference :(

In order to get the MSD (multi-service discount) rate of $6.95 month you have to commit to three years of monthly service. There is no prepay option that will get you an equivalent rate.

The ones on the TiVo site are bundle packages, which aren't eligible themselves to get the MSD rates, until the bundle contract is up.

If you want MSD from the start, you need to buy the box from a B&M or online retailer, or used.

Are any of them truly extra?

If you are using the room, then no, it's not extra.

Brick&Mortar. In other words, a store in the real world. :)

What happened to the TiVo you transferred the lifetime from? Or was that a non functioning TiVo? Or is this for a 3rd TiVo?

Just wondering. I was thinking of going for the MSD after the year was up on the transfer promo...
