networking directivo's

I am considering hacking a couple of my directivos. using either ptvnet upgrade
software or the zipper. My main reason for doing this is to allow me the ability to watch a show in the bedroom that was recorded on the unit located in the living room. My question is will this be the result of networking the units by either of these methods. I did not see any direct mention of this while reading through other posts. Maybe because its a simpleton question?

this is referred to as "MRV" (multi-room viewing), and is one of the biggest benefits of hacking a directivo.

As long as they are properly hacked and connected to the network with compatible usb network adapters, what you're talking about should work just fine
