Editing video stored on Tivo Desktop

I have copied my old VHS tapes to my Humax Tivo box and then transferred the video to Tivo Desktop. Now I want to edit the video.

What is the best way to do that? Has anyone tried the DVD Maker functionality in Vista?

It depends on what exactly you want to do. If you just want to cut it up then VideoReDo is a good choice. However if you want to actually do fancy stuff like add titles, transitions, music, etc... then your best bet is to dump the videos to standard MPEG using tivodecode or DirectShow Dump. Then edit them in a more full featured editing app such as Pinnacle Studio or Adobe Premiere Elements.
