Hi TiVoers,

just got a TiVo Series 2 (not-dual tuner) box a week ago, and hooked it up to my landline phoneline, and service is going fine. I don't watch tons of TV, but I already recorded a couple things, and I'm sure it will be great.
I have a Comcast Cable Modem which plugs straight into the Mac via ethernet. I didn't realize I needed to get an ethernet adapter to connect to TiVoToGo (told you I was new to this).
I found a guy who's selling a used Linksys 100TX ethernet adapter for cheap, and then I found out that this adapter was one of many that were incompatible with the TiVo 7.2.2 software update, even though TiVo gives the Linksys a green Thumbs Up. My TiVo has 8.1 software. Does anyone know if these two work together? And if so, do I also need a separate router? Someone at work told me the Comcast modem is a router as well.
As a beginner, I'm just trying to connect strings of logic here, not knowing how all these hook-ups work. I'd love to enjoy TiVo ToGo, bt not if it means buying a router AND an ethernet adapter. That's a lot less user-friendly than it sounded on TiVo's website.

Thanks in advance,

Tom
