View Full Version : Product Watch Videos not working correctly

Anybody else having issues with Product Watch? I set it to download videos a while back. It keeps trying to download the FJ Race Footage, but it never actually downloads anything. Also, I told it to cancel all downloads, and tried turning on the feature on my DT instead. So far the DT hasn't downloaded anything, even though I told it to get the Superbowl commercials. And my original tivo still keeps trying to download the FJ stuff.

Any ideas?

Mine downloaded one super bowl commercial, even though the max is set to 20 videos. So mine isn't working any better than yours.

I've gotten about 9 so far. Since Monday I have had those, plus 2 Rocketboom episodes.

Mine was downloading the superbowl commercials without incident (at least 10) until yesterday when it downloaded the same ad over and over again every minute or 2. I disabled product watch and it eventually stopped.

We're aware of some issues with our Product Watch delivery system and are working to correct the problem. We apologize for the slow download times and multiple copies or attempts. I'll keep you updated as our engineers address the issue.

(Note that Product Watch uses version 1.0 of our content delivery system, while TiVoCast and the services related to the Amazon announcement all use version 2.0. This issue is a 1.0 issue only.)

So will PW be updated to 2.0 automatically? And will this happen before the Amazon stuff rolls out?

Your's is working better than mine - I'm a Series 3 owner and all I get is a yellow star advertising it and when I select that, it tells me to get connected even though I already am (I think "connected" is a polite word for what it's really trying to tell me).

Unfortunately there was a publication error, implying this would be available for Series3 users. Series3 users can enjoy other parts of the Superbowl Showcase, but can't receive the download commercials. We apologize for the error.

So will PW be updated to 2.0 automatically? And will this happen before the Amazon stuff rolls out?We do have plans to migrate Product Watch to our 2.0 infrastructure, but no definite timeframe. In the short-term, we are working to fix this problem in 1.0 for those who are affected.

The Chevy Superbowl Ad has been trying to download for the past 12 hours and fails because the video can not be found. Not sure if this is known yet or not to Tivo so I thought I would post it here incase it is not.

Still have one DT unit sitting at only 4 commercials received.
I went ahead and subscribed to the SB Product Watch jumbo on my second DT box, for my own comparison.

Received quite a few, most are at least high quality, perhaps one or two med and some look to be best or better but the two chevy ads are basic quality terrible!

RocketBoom also cut short this time around...

Ok, I posted this the other day with the intent of walking into the other room and getting my second DT unit signed up. Well, it won't. I go into the menu to sign up, and it hangs at PLEASE WAIT...nothing happens. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes with nothing.
My first DT box still only has 4 of the commercials.

Not worth it now because between all the sites online hosting the commercials, I already watched them all again.
Great idea, but again, horrible execution.
