One of the better episodes this season. Christopher is a ******bag.

Yes he is. And Lorelai is a biatch. I cannot believe the way she treats her mother. God, I've gotten to hate that woman.

There's no zing or snap to the dialogue anymore. It's just people talking a lot at each other. Rory and Logan's conversation while they picked up stuff for Richard was just plain boring.

I now skim the show, watching only to see how the plots develop.

I thought the interplay between Lorelai and her mother was quite understandable. Emily was manic and Lorelai became concerned. The fact that Emily was being true to herself and, upon reflection, quite admirable, doesn't mean that her actions would not be upsetting to her daughter, who was dealing with her own set of demons.

I think the whole family, Christopher excluded, did themselves proud. Rory's boyfriend acted as only a fairytale knight in shining armor could do and for that earned enormous good feelings from all. I fear, however, that his new internet venture will turn very bad. Just a hunch.

I thought this was an excellent episode. From personal experience with family going through this kind of thing, the interaction between Lorelai and Emily was spot on. And the breakdown/breakthrough in the gift shop was very well done - brought a tear to my eye. Logan was wonderful, and a agree with efilippi that there's an ominous feeling about this new Internet venture - especially since Logan isn't including his father at all this time.

[speculation mode]Logan was worried about one of the "big guys" getting interested in the company he wants to acquire. Richard is enjoying seeing Rory getting bit by the business bug. I predict that Richard will offer to stake Rory to allow her to partner with Logan to buy the new Internet company. But Logan/Rory will find themselves battling to purchase it against a previously unknown venture capital group - which will turn out to be a front company for Logan's father. All leading to a grand explosion between Logan's family and Rory's family - perhaps at a Rory-Logan engagement party during May sweeps. :D [/speculation mode]

Wow, that actually sounds very plausible.

AJ, you put a lot more into your speculation than I. I just figured it was leading to something for Rory to do after graduation with Logan. I also kind of figured that Paris will become a part of it.

But I like your more detailed speculation much better.

I think Lorelai should hook up with Taylor.

At this point, why not?

ROFLMA @ hooking up with Taylor!

I finally am caught up (well, had to skip S6 for now, but did "catch up" by reading the synopsis' on wikipedia), so can finally join in. Thank you to those who encouraged me to start with S1 and work my way 'til now...it's consumed my life, and I always swore I'd never buy a boxed set of a tv show, but now I own 3 of them. There's nothing like a good Gilmore Marathon over an entire weekend (okay, who am I kidding...weeks on end).

After watching the first 5 seasons, then skipping the 6th, I was surprised to see that Rory and Logan are still together! I kept thinking that he's probably cheating on her or something, but then figured that it really is the new business venture that has him a little distracted. I got the feeling too that somehow Rory is going to invest in the company with Logan, but was thinking that maybe they were killing off Richard and having Rory inherit the $$. I like AJ's version much better though.

OK, so now that's at least three people who like my vision for the series. So who's going to hook me up with the PTB at CW so I can get a sweet writing gig for the last bit of Gilmore Girls? (Anything so I get a chance to hang out with Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham on a regular basis - I'm sure my wife would understand. :D ).
