I must say I like this judge much more when he's a plaintiff rather than a judge. And loved how the judge on the case kept smiling during Alan's closing arguments. Even Clarence was a nice character for this episode.
Is the Segway new, or has Denny ridden on it in prior episodes?

Loved the soap box. Kelley *definitely* knows we're out here. :)
This is the first time that I've seen the Segway in BL.

The Segway is Bethany's, did you miss the episode opening?
Did Kelly just get out of rehab or something to put him on an anti-drug kick? Does the amnesia drug actually make you forget the events or just loosen the associations so you are constantly reminded of the trauma.

Does such a drug really exist?
I, for one, can imagine few things more horrifying than deliberately using a chemical to create a "gap" in my memory! My gut tells me that the long term side-effects of doing this to your brain would be far worse than any PTSD!

I'm growing more and more sour on this show every week. No more meaty cases, judges who have well overstayed their welcome on the bench and a soap opera with nympho-lawyer.
Its just too over the top each week and now it's pretty much each case. In the past there were at least some interesting cases, but an amnesia drug and a gay-cure-not-working suit?
And enough Bethany. I mean, she's trying cases and doesn't even work for the firm!
I'll probably keep watching but its getting thin.

Ah, ok. I probably did miss something in the beginning, then. And that also explains the mylar tassels hanging from the Segway. :)

This episode felt weird and out of place. BL feels so much different now from how it did in season 1, and thats a bad thing.
The fun is gone and its starting to take itself too seriously.

Gotta disagree here. There is no show on currently on TV that makes me laugh as much or as loud as BL. I like some shows for other reasons (CSI), but for sheer entertainment, and ability to put a smile on my face, BL has no equal. :D

Gotta admit, Alan's closing was brilliant.

Terrible law, I think, but brilliant rhetoric.

I thought it was too wound in itself to clearly make its point.
The scene at the end was nice, as always. "Wanna sleep over?"

Greetings,
Gail O'Grady (former Mom from American Dreams) was absolutely HOT as the judge. Who knew? With the 60's hairdo on American Dreams, she seemed pretty average.
IBIMB. :D

Don't forget Donna Abandando from NYPD Blue. She had big hair there, and I think a couple more pounds on her, more voluptuous. She was pretty hot in that role, and even had one of NYPD Blue's "special" scenes once.

Oddly, I didn't recognize her (I know her from NYPD Blue), although I knew I knew her from somewhere. She looks younger than she did then, which was what, ten years ago?

This was one of those weeks when it looks like the TV writers all had lunch together to swap stories. The exact same drug (Propranolol) popped up in a cop show the next night. 60 Minutes did a segment on it:

Wikipedia only has details of it's usual uses, as a beta blocker used to treat high blood pressure.

Definitely more hair, and more Gail then as well.
