DirecTV DVR Problems

Happiness is getting rid of the third DirecTV DVR you have struggled with for as many months in an effort to receive the local HD channels. We are now back using our TIVO and loving every minute of viewing without the constant frustration experienced with the DirecTV DVR. The loss of the DirecTV DVR HD is a small price to pay for the wonderful and simple operation of the Tivo.

When we dropped off the third DirecTV DVR today with the shipper he said he sent back about 6 of the DirecTV DVR's every week.

I wonder if those are going back for defect replacement or because people are dropping DirecTV's DVR service.

Don't give up HD. Get a series 3.

Yea, the Series 3 ATSC tuner is wonderful. With just a pair of rabbit ears, I was getting 70's to 90's signal strength on all of my digital OTA channels. With a roof antenna, they're all above 90, nice.
