View Full Version : EATEL Cablecard Issues

I realize that their may not be anybody who has EATEL Cable (Ascension Parish LA). But they are a smaller cableco who has a fairly good set of Fiber services, including digital cable, phone and internet. I have used them for about a year with the SA8300 box with Sara 1.8 software. All was good, except the box, so I finally upgraded to the S3. They rent the cards at $3.50/mo and they are self install.

Well, the install went fine except there are about 5 channels not working properly for both cable cards. First off, all analog channels work fine and the premium (HBO) works. There are 2 digital channels (104, 105) and 3 HD channels (NBC, FOX, ESPN2) which exhibit the same issue. They show up with sound for about 1-2 seconds, then the screen goes grey and says "This message is from your cable provider" please call .... I have went through setup on three different cable cards and they behave the same way for these 5 channels. I didn't think this would help but I had them come out and check the signal, but all checks out.

Any thoughts on why these 5 channels appear, then go away to a cable card message? :confused:

I had that issue on espn & disc hd only to find out they had them on the wrong downstream

What's that mean? Did it get resolved?
