I have my dsr7000 working with vserver. At first i got it working on my local internet. I have also been able to log in successfully on my LAN using my isp's ip address using port 8080. On my local network, after about 10 seconds I get video on wmp. I have successfully been able to log into tivowebplus remotely but when i click to view a show, media player opens it says connecting and then after about 10 seconds media player closes.
Thanks,
Z

Wow 30 reads and no one has any advice for me?
I have searched this topic and found a couple of threads with the same experience and all of them had no replies.
Can anyone confirm that Vserver is capable of streaming over the net using WMP or any other player?
Thanks,
Z

I personally don't watch that way, but it supposedly is possible. From what I have read it gets real wonky if you go outside of your local network lag and what not.
And getting sarcastic isn't going to get you much help. you could also try DDB if you want more help. you were up to 49 views and got a reply, are you happy?

I wasnt trying being sarcastic at all. I was just suprised that no one responded to what seems to be an obvious question for anyone who has gotten tivoweb working remotely. If it is not feasable that is fine, I just want to know because I have spent plenty of time trying to read and figure this out and would rather not spend more time on a futile goal.
And I did post the same question at DDB. No info has been provided thier either.

For one, make sure you have TyShow installed on the remote PC. It may not matter, though. Your upload speed from your house may not be fast enough.

Thanks for the replies guys,
I do have tyshow installed. I dont think i would be able to view shows over my LAN without it. My upload stream is about 450 based on a couple of internet speed tests i have done. I will look into tystreamer. Do you think my internet connection will be fast enough?
Thanks,
Z

You need to have tyshow installed on the REMOTE PC that you are trying to watch it on. I'm considering trying this out, but with a rated 384kbps I don't know that my connection will be fast enough.
