View Full Version : TivoToGo sucks up the processor!

It appears that TivoToGo is really loading down my PC. With TTG running in the background, access to the web is horrible. I can wait 5 minutes for a page to load. When I turned off TTG, loads, though slow, were much quicker (15-20 seconds).

Is it normal for TTG to put such a heavy load on a PC? Is there a way around it?

Thanks....

Is it actively transfering and/or transcoding to iPod format? If so then that can put a burden on the PC, especially if it's an older PC. However if it's just sitting there doing nothing it should be putting any strain on your PC other then possibly sucking up a few MB of memory.

1. I don't have a video iPod so no need to transcode.
2. The only thing I know it is doing is making itself available if I were to query it from the TiVo to watch a moved video, listen to mp3s on the PC, etc.
3. I have it set to automatically move a couple of programs after they are recorded, but that should have been finished days ago.

I can say that when I went into msconfig and unchecked the TiVO Beacon and a few other things and then rebooted, the internet performance went up. It still isn't perfect but sure was better.

All help greatly appreciated.... Paul
