Anyone else noticed that 30 sec skip and the instant reply button are MUCH slower than with the S2? With the S2, it was instantaneous, and I could master the skip forward and back to jump through commercials. With the S3, I find myself jumping way too far as the picture lags behind me pushing the buttons.

It seems instant with my S3 boxes. I use it all the time. That's how I watched the Superbowl on Sunday and every show with commercials. Now with my HR10-250 boxes sometimes the button pushes would lag but I have yet to have that happen with any of my S3 boxes.

Mine seems fine with the 750GB WeaKnees Seagate DB35 upgrade.

Mine is a little slower to respond to the 30 sec skip as well and I've upgraded to 500gb. Sometimes I'm not sure if it is taking the command. If I hit the button 4 times, while it acts a little weird, it does skip correctly. One difference from you, Bierboy, is that we have cableCARDs, so that may have something to do with it. There is no doubt that the cableCARDS slow channel access in general on mine.

* OTA or unencrypted QAM recordings are very responsive to 30-sec skip
* Encrypted QAM recordings (i.e. which require going through cableCARDS) have a little lag for 30-sec skip compared to the above.
* Before I had cableCARDS installed I had access to analog channels and those were very responsive as well.

i.e. 30-sec skip for any recording requiring cableCARDS has a little lag. Perhaps the lag is due to extra work needed for multiple levels of encryption/decryption when seeking ahead in encrypted recordings.

I thought I was going crazy. So, that may be it, when the cableCARD is accessed.
