I have two series2, I have just move to DirectTV with there new HD DVR and I want to cancel one of the series2. I have managed to hook the other one up via IR to the SD only, which was pretty cool that it re mapped all my Season passes to the new channels.
But I need to cancel the other Tivo as it is not lifetime. Can I do that online?

No. You have to call TiVo to cancel.

You have to call them to cancel it.
But: they may offer you a good deal not to cancel. Also, if you are on a Commitment you may not be able to cancel it.
But if you can, how much are you looking to get for that Series 2 if you decide to sell it? I may be interested.

Why not? I only ask because I know for a fact that what you say is not true.

Allow me modify the poster's statement: "Also, if you are on a Commitment you may not be able to cancel it unless you pay an early termination fee".

Thank you Mike.
Yes that is what I was getting at. With a commitment, you must carry the commitment in full, or pay an ealry termination fee.

Expressing entire thoughts is a good thing. Partial thoughts, not so much.

This is the 'Help Center' forum; you could have at least pointed out the error of his statement instead of just saying it was wrong. It's all about helping the OP in this forum.

I am not on a lifetime with either SERIES2. One of my series2 is working with the DirectTv D11 receiver. Very little live tv, mostly to record kid shows. The the other tivo is in my office where I do not have a D8* receiver yet.
I pay 19.90 a month for both series2. I assume if I cancel one then it will go down to 12.95. I can get a second receiver for 5.99 a month and a make it a dvr for $99. Trying to justify keeping my tivo is hard to do.
I may keep the second one just to have a device to transfer shows too for 6.95 a month.
I will know more tomorrow when I check out my options
