I just wanted to put in my 2 cents worth, since there are far too many people complaining about their units here. Somebody's got to try and even the score! :)

I haven't had it for more than a week, but so far it's working great. I've been a long time Tivo user, since the very beginning. I even won my first 30-hr Philips Tivo through the poetry/song contest on Tivo.com -- remember that? I've been using Zippered Hughes HDVR2's for awhile now, so it's a bummer to lose the MRV feature, but I'm holding out hope that we'll at least be able to share shows among S3's someday, even if we don't have TTG. As soon as that's available, I'll buy another S3.

I haven't gone through the Cablecard nightmare, which is apparently a source of pain and frustration to many, so I can't comment on that. I'm just recording OTA, which is great (except for the lousy low-strength CBS2 signal here in Chicago, but that's another story). I can't let go of my DTivos yet, and there's no way I'm paying D* AND Comcast.

So, I'm sure there are going to be headaches and bugs to come, but I love it!

 Me too, and I have cable cards.

I have watched this forum for many years and have two Series 2 TiVo that have been flawless. I recently added a Series 3 with Cable Cards from Time Warner and really think its a great product. Does it have some limitations, maybe, I guess it depends who you are but for the most part it does everything I need. I do have to admit the CableCards installation is tedious but totally doable.

Careful. If you say good things about your S3 you'll be labeled a TiVo Fanboy. ;)

I've loved mine since day one as well. And remember there are plenty of people who love it too, it's just that few people come in and say how great it is. Happy people don't complain.

it is a great machine..other than an accidental reboot...I was exiting my tivo the other day and before exiting I entered 664, to get to iNHD...man...bam..box saw that entry and rebooted...took 8 minutes from that point to get the programming back, now I will say, that is just not right, 8 minutes?...lucky it was not duriong any live sports...
but I too love the box, as I was upstairs using the 6412 it took 20 seconds to recongize a channel change...

as long as it refrains from rebooting too often I am very happy and I paid full retail.....

I have a always loved tivo and now S3 HD TV what more can I say. Even my wife and 2 1/2
year old little girl who now thinks Little Einsteins is always on. Funny story we were in costco and out of no where my little girl yells TIVO DADDY and points to a tivo display.

I love my Tivo too!
I have had it for over 2 weeks now, no problems AT ALL!
Of course, I only use OTA for my HD. No way I am paying cable co or D* for useless HD garbage channels when all I ever watch is network TV programs.

I am a former ReplayTV person. Sold both of them and converted to TivoHD.

Thank you TIVO for a GREAT product!

The best DVR I have ever owned. Glad I left DirecTV...

We have 8 Series3's among family and friends and no complaints, just oohs and aahs. Loving them. All of them are Lifetime upgrades and on Comcast.

For the record, I was in my glory watching the Superbowl on my S3. (although all the watermarks on the cameras got to be a little annoying, but I digress.)

I love this product. When eSata, MRV and TTG (hopefully) become available, I will love it even more.

I hate my S3!!!

I have to watch everything it records in beautiful HD so I can delete it to make room for more. I wish I had another HDTV so I could get a second S3.

I love my S3 and HD, to point that I've almost stopped using the S1 that's connected to the same TV. Still use the S2 in the bedroom though. Other than DVDs, I couldn't tell you the last time I watched any TV that didn't come from one of out TiVos.

Why need another HDTV for an excuse...with 2 S3s, you can record 4 HD shows at the same time ;)

I'm currently in a transition, where I actually have 4 Tivo's and only 2 TV's. :o

I may even end up with a 5th. LOL.

Heck 1 (and maybe a second soon) are S3's, and none of my TV's are HDTV's.

THe S3 I have now, is hooked up via Component at 480i to my 10 year old Toshiba Cinema Series 4:3 32" CRT.

It looks great. Awesome even. I don't know how long I'll be able to wait (I've been trying to wiat till after I move,) to get an HDTV, I know that will look even better.

It's a shame there couldn't be a DTV S3, but yes, the TiVo wins out over the transport I use to watch programming :D.

My S1 was viewed as a necessity in my home. I was elated to see TiVo offer the lifetime transfer to an S3 so I ponied up the $1K. What a disappointment to watch the cable tech try and fail the CC setup. I haven't given up hope but at the moment I'm a bit bummed.
