This is one of the few times I ever watch live TV... watching the SuperBowl. Even though these are commercials that have some value I can't help grabbing the remote and hitting FF then wondering why the !#$@#! thing won't work :D

And we'll assume you are watching it SANS Tivo, because either:

a) You were at someone elses house, that didn't have a Tivo...and you still had the remote in your hand.
b) You have a Series1/2 Tivo, but wanted to watch in HD, so bypassed the Tivo.

I was watching on my Tivo, but in live TV mode. Something I rarely do. Can't FF live TV though, even with Tivo.

In my case, I recorded it only for the commercials, but when I sat down to watch it this morning I found myself instinctually FF the commercials anyway.

my wife has this thing about watching sports absolutely live. She will even go upstairs to a TV to get the score "now" as she can not wait to see the outcome :rolleyes:

so we watched our recording of it about 10 minutes after it started and of course caught up to live quickly. Then she kept asking me to FF the talking parts and the boring commercials. I just kept laughing at her and reminding her that this is what right up to the minute does not allow for. That TiVo feature will come right after innovations in time/space warping.

ah well - no more of that until next football season

Yea, it's funny, the Superbowl is the one and only show where I *don't* FF the commercials, well, at least the interesting ones. With the money these people are paying for advertising space, you just gotta see what they're up to. And I kept instictually hitting the FF button too, had to back up a few times.

I know I'm not the only one to record the super bowl and fast forward through the stupid game and WATCH the commercials.. (the rest of the year, I record everything to 30 second skip PAST the commercials... with the exception of Clio awards shows and the like.. but I FFed through most of the CBS super bowl commercials show since it was boring/same commercials for the most part.)
