I tried a brief search, and found nothing (I'm not good at searching, I'll admit) on this topic: How can I tell if something being recorded is a suggestion, or something that's being recorded by a family member?

EDIT: More specifically, while being recorded, how can I tell?

If it shows up in the suggestions folder... its a suggestion. It also shows the Tivo logo in the little circle indicator next to the program after it is done recording.

Granted, I dont have an HDTV unit, but I will assume it is the same across all platforms with a suggestions folder.

When the S3 is recording something you've programmed, it displays the title in the LED on front. If it's a suggestion, it doesn't.

Scheduled recordings will still appear in the To Do list while they're recording; suggestions never appear there.

And one more method... If you're on the tuner where the program is being recorded, and you try to switch channels, it prompts you if it's a scheduled recording. If it's a suggestion, it just changes the channel without prompting. However, if you have a scheduled recording on the tuner you're on, and a suggestion on the other, it won't automatically swap tuners and change channels, but rather prompt you to cancel the scheduled recording. :-/ So, if you get a prompt, you should manually change tuners and try again.

Thanks for the responses. I should have remembered the LED on the front. I thought the channel change response was correct, but didn't want to test it today as my wife may have been very upset if I erased her recording.

THANKS ALL!
