View Full Version : Pink screen issues with HDMI switching receiver!

Just bought a Marantz 7001 hdmi switching receiver.

I have a Marantz 9600 DVD upconverting to 1080P and a PC outputting 1920x1080 switching throught the receiver--and output is perfect.

But the Series 3 has a pinkish green screen color. When rebooting, the Series 3 output is perfect during setup, but turns pink after.

If I take the Series 3 out of the receivers switching loop, the picture is fine.

Obviously there is an issue between the Series 3 and the Marantz 7001.

Can anyone shed any insight into this situation?

Looks like I have to use component-in....unless someone can help!

The other option is going back to the SFA 8300! That's not my first choice...

I would always choose the best picture over the relative convenience of HDMI switching any day, but that's my personal preference.

You could take the HDMI signal into the TV directly until you get this "pink" thing sorted out. It's not the Tivo, from what you describe, but the Marantz. Call them.

Just a thought: does the rec'vr have it's own picture controls, color balance, etc.? If so, look there for settings that might affect the color, etc.

No on-screen controls.

But this pink screen effect has been reported as far back as the first Tivo/Dish HD unit. It seems to be an incompatible HDCP handshake issue.

It could probably be fixed with a firmware upgrade....

I get the same pinkish green screen when I run the HDMI from the S3 to my Pioneer 74 receiver and to the TV. That's why I link the S3 directly to the Tv, bypassing the receiver. This is a common hand-shaking issue with HDMI and receivers.
