Ok, got a antenna today. Have not had an antenna in over 20 years!

OTA rocks!! HDTV channels are so nice, and I don't even have a HDTV (65 inch rear perjection). And the sound is a great improvement also. Digital optical out to a sony 5.1 receiver.

I just deleted all my seasons passes and moved them over to the HD channels.

I get 10 in total HDTV channels, about 40 other non HD channels.

My my question is, why do only half the channels that were found in the scan have program guide information and a channel name?

How can I tell my TIVO what the other 4 HDTV stations are? without guide data they are useless. I havn't channeled surfed since 99 and my sony serries 1. (which I noticed Summer was using in her bedroom during the last Epp of The O.C. -- the subtites even said 'tivo soundeffect')

thanks

Some stations have addition feeds for each channel. Like here PBS has 4 digital channels (42.1 ,42.2, 42.3, 42.4) and a couple of local stations (12.2 and 5.2)have all weather while fox has a music video station (29.1).

I feel the same way, haven't had an antenna for more than 20 years. I hooked up my S3 to an antenna and was simply amazed at the excellence of digital OTA. I'm so glad I'm not paying the cable company for something better I can get for FREE.

My TiVo figured out all my digital OTA channels right on the money. It even put * on the ones in the channel list that are not active. Perfect!

You'll want to send the info to TiVo via their Lineup form:

http://customersupport.tivo.com/Lineupform.aspx

Let them know as much info as you can... the channel "6-2" or "64-4", the station's call sign, the name of the channel (if you can find it) and you'll probably want to include the frequency too (if you go to your Channel List and highlight the channel, it'll say something like "6-2 WPVI Channel 64"

Let them know all the channels that you receive OTA but aren't getting guide info for.

go to www.antennaweb.org and click on "choose and antenna" to determine what digital stations you have in your area and their channel numbers.
