I use VOIP for my phone service and I have a cable internet connection. I can't figure out how to connect to my updates and I no longer have programming information in my Tivo Series 2. Can anyone help?

I believe your phone service provider can offer POTS emulators for things like faxes and modems. Otherwise, you'll need to put the TiVo on a private household network that interfaces with your cable modem for internet connectivity. There are several ways to do that so I won't say much about it at this point. Once you have a private network up an running, you add a network adapter to your TiVo. It's best to use one from TiVo to guarantee compatablility with your box. Finally, you configure the TiVo's network adapter to use your private network. That's done through the TiVo setup menus.

Looks like you've already got that network for your Cable Internet. You've undoubtedly got some kind of router, through which your computer(s) connect.
TiVo needs to go through this too.
You mentioned an Airport Express and Airport Extreme. Which base station do you have and how does the other fit into the mix? "Airport Express" and "Airport Extreme" are two different devices, and your options vary between the two.
Your TiVo can get a USB-to-Ethernet or a USB-to-Wireless adapter, and be hooked up fairly easily.
