Anyone have advice on the right DVD recorder to pair with my HR-10?

I just want a good DVD recorder and player. My husband wants it to also have a hard disk, which we of course don't need for TV but he'd like to use that for another reason.

Edit:
Yes, I've been reading the other threads posted here about this, but still don't see quite the answer I'm looking for: I want a recorder that will burn a DVD (either HD or SD content) and play back with the correct aspect ratio on either my 16x9 TV or someone else's 4x3 TV. I understand there's something about needing a recorder that correctly flags the format, but I'm not sure if the model I'm looking at (Panasonic ES15) will do that.

You can use any dvd recorder you want but you must set your tivo to 480i to record onto dvd. There is no way to record HD content onto dvd (yet) . So SD is your only option.

The 16x9 letterbox flag is set by the tivo and it had a bug where it will flag recordings to 4x3 even though they are widescreen. This was fixed in 6.3a cant be sure on 6.3b but either way your recording will play widescreen on a hd set BUT will be 4x3 on a normal set if this flag is not set which is a hit or miss on the firmware.... I heard the only recorder that let you set this flag might have been the pioneer but I cannot confirm... I personally use the samsung dvd recorder and I use the Panasonic with the S-Video out of the tivo set to 480i when dubbing. Works great. I cant wait for a HD recorder that can dump 30 minutes onto a normal dvd-r or blu ray or hd-dvd recorder but you know the blank media will be sky high. A normal dvd-r can hold 30 min of HD content but there is no way to get it on there or play it back....

I hear the playstation 3 can do this (playback) for upcoming hd hard drive camcorders using a new h.264 - so hopefully something like a divx hd recorder using normal dvd-r's will come along so hd content can be put onto moveable media.

I simply record from HR10 to my Panasonic DVD recorder. I set the output to
480i, widescreen. The finished DVD will look fine on a widescreen 16:9 TV.
It will looked weird on a SD 4:3 TV, because the picture will be squeezed.

Next, I take the DVD and copy the VIDEO_TS folder to my computer. Using
IFOEdit(free software), I change the flag, which takes 20 seconds. I then
burn the VIDEO_TS folder to a blank DVD. Voila, the finished DVD will now
automatically play at letterbox mode on any SD 4:3 TV.
