Hello Everyone,

I have quite a few movies that I've recorded from the various premium movie channels and I am in the process of cleaning out my Tivo because I would like to eventually replace the hard drive, but I noticed when I press record on my DVD recorder it automatically stops. Is there a way around this, or do I say goodbye to my movies. I want to replace the hard drive which would mean that I will lose everything on my system.

Thank you,

If your dvd burner stops after a few seconds then the shows are probably encrypted with a copy-once flag. So when the show is recorded to the tivo, that's your one time. A while back when I still burned dvds this way I noticed myself that most premium channels have this issue. There are work-arounds for this, but they can be relatively expensive.

Or, if you are upgrading the drive yourself, you could always use the information from here : http://tivo.upgrade-instructions.com/index.php .
Then, you could easily make an expanded copy of your current drive on your new upgrade drive, and copy your recordings to the new drive in the process.
