Convoluted title I know, and in fact I'm not completely sure this belongs here or another forum.
1/31 I logged onto directv's website and ordered the UFC 67 HD using the provided 'order now' button. It was for Saturday 2/3 @ 10pm on channel 98 for $49.99 using a one-time charge on my credit card.
Didn't think too much about it until last night I decided to make sure channel 98 was in my Channel Lineup and setup a recording for the event. However when I went into the Guide and navigated to the 10pm showing on 2/3 I couldn't set it to record. In fact, I'm still not sure how your supposed to do that, so I setup a manual record for the time/channel.
Out of curiosity I decided to log onto directv.com and check my PPV order. Once I found where to view current PPV orders I noticed something quite wrong. Under date time it reads 2/4/2007 05:00
Last night just after 10pm I called the phone number listed on my PPV order confirmation email and got a-hold of either the worlds most retarded CSR, or the directv PPV system is completely screwed up. Probably a little of both.
After 45 minutes (Yes, 45 minutes) on the phone I still believe there is a problem. I explained myself multiple times. I said OVER and OVER that I was/am trying to order the 2/3 UFC HD LIVE HD event.
45min in a nutshell
The CSR first insisted that the event did not come on until 2/4 which I kept telling
him he was wrong. Next He eventually ordered me the SD (Standard Def) version of the UFC on channel 123, to which I asked why. Needless to say at this point I stopped being polite. Asked him if I was the only one ordering the PPV event etc...
After some more back and forth and him searching etc... He said "Ok, I've got it. The labeling is wrong on our guide, I've got the right one ordered for you for 10pm on 2/3 on channel 98" immediately I checked online to see that I now had two orders.
Order 1: 2/4/2007 05:00 for UFC 67 for channel 123 (Standard Def)
Order 2: 2/4/2007 05:00 for UFC 67 for channel 98 (High Def)
Since this morning the orders are listed the same, I'm obviously going to call back today and attempt to talk to another CSR. Hoping the Dayshift crew is a little more versed in scheduling PPV events.
It just amazes me to no end at how much trouble this has turned out to be. I will have a hard time spending any extra money on PPV in the future.
