I just purchased a Soundmatters MAINstage Audio System to use as the speaker setup for my TV and TiVo since the speakers on my Sony TV are going bad. Is anyone else using one of these systems?
The reason I ask is this: apparently the MAINStage has a separate volume control that is adjusted via a its own remote. My goal is to avoid having two remotes: one from TiVo and one for the MAINStage.
But, my TiVo remote directly controls the volume of my TV so I was hoping to just “re-map” my TiVo’s volume control away from my TV and to the MAINStage. But the MAINStage product is not listed in the TiVo setup menu when it asks me to select the brand of TV I own.
So I guess my question is: has anyone else done this? How can I “program” my TiVo remote to control the volume of the MAINStage unit. I assume it’s possible, I just don’t know which frequency (or which brand) to select in the TV screen to make this happen.
Thanks!
