View Full Version : Daylight Savings changes and S1 TiVo

I have an old (ancient, really) Lifetimed S1 with a busted modem (dials out fine, but likes to answer the phone when someone calls). As a result I only plug it in and force a connection once a week or so. I had a TiVoNet card in it but it died and I haven't replaced it yet. The question at hand is:
Will TiVo update the DST information (tzfile) on my S1 in a timely fashion (or have they done so already).
Since I no longer have access to a shell/ftp I can't fetch it off and check myself, so I figured I'd put the question to a larger audience who might have such access.
Anyone care to be nosy for me?

If you're talking about the fact that DST will be extended in the US by four weeks, and older DST calculations will be inaccurate, I don't have a clue which tivo s/w versions will or won't properly adapt
The one thing I know for sure is that TWP will need to be patched for it
The good news is that, since guide data is in UTC, it should only be a display problem, recordings should still happen properly

We had a thread about this the other day in one of the other forums and TiVoJerry is looking into this.

I want to know how things will go for an UNsubbed Series 1.

I want to know how things will go for an UNsubbed Series 1.My guess would be:
No communication == No change in DST calculations == 4 weeks during which manual recordings will be off by an hour
