i just want to take 1 BRAND NEW hr10-250 drive which is cleared and deleted and put that image to a newly bought 250gb drive.
can that be done without doing instantcake, etc.
isnt there something out there that can just do a complete format and data copy to make it an exact duplicate with a few commands?
thanks

thanks, i read that. i was looking for no backups, nothing extra. just pure image creation after formating a hard drive without so many steps.
for example, can a compusa do this service or bestbuy?
there must be something that can just duplicate my hardrive isnt there. what about using a harddrive backup tool, format the new one and back thte image up onto it.
im guessing there is no such way to do this.

Tivo's file system is rather unique, so typical PC-based backup and software imaging tools don't work. The free linux-based MFS Tools do provide many utilities that will run on your PC to duplicate and/or reimage a Tivo hard drive. Check out the Hinsdale information, or download the tools here ....
