Had two scheduled recordings not record last night and this morning, checked " to do list" and it states they were modified by someone in the household  , I thought this problem was resolved. This is getting to be as bad as the Sirius S-50 debacle!

The Sirius S50 debacle is worse. I am still without my S50 and it broke last JUNE!

You should be thanking Tivo then....

I think that is the best software glitch ever made....missing SNL last Sat. You need to buy a special cooling fan for your TIVO to thank it for saving you from terrible programming.

I am missing LOST and Prison break next week. I see them in the guide, and they used to be in my To-Do List. But now they are gone. Hopefully an indexing will fix it.

I also noticed this today. I have been checking my to do list for quite a while since this all started. This morning, two shows that should record next week are not listed in my To Do List. I went to Season Pass Manager and pulled up both shows. Both have new episodes next week and both said the show would not be recorded. I had to manually check the episodes to put them in my To Do List. By the way, I have 3.1. What's going on here? Do we have to check everyday to make sure something that should record actually does?

Unfortunately, checking every day is what I have been doing. I have noticed something that I don't think has been mentioned before, my apologies if it has. My HR10 has been listing programs in the TDL that it says will be recorded, but there is no double checkmark next to the episode in the listing. The episode does indeed get recorded, but even if I manually select "record this episode also" the single checkmark does not show up in the episode lists. It only happens on some stations, and with some programs, but it IS annoying, and it erodes my confidence that the episode(s) in question will not be skipped (no checkmark). Has anyone else seen this? Will a delete and recreate the SP help? How about a reboot? A Clear and delete everything? Is it best to just leave it be?

Oh, you missed two good epsiodes! Try and watch the repeats sometime. The Lost episode was the one where they almost got off the island, and then the plot took a weird twist, just as we almost figured everything out. While the Prison Break one had the escapees barely avoiding capture and almost being sent back to prison.

I've also had this problem. Didn't see it happen until 6.2, but I also haven't seen it happen for a couple weeks. Normally see it happen to one of my Thursday night programs Earl-Scrubs-Office. Usually skips one of them because "someone in my household modified the SP." Ugh.

There's an S-50 debacle? I thought my experience (occasional crashes, missing artwork since February, total non-communication with my laptop, complete inability to record any content at all) was unique. I invested close to 5 hunny in this POS. Luckilly, it sits in its cradle and typically behaves, and I do all my Stern show recording externally, which works better anyway (of course I could have done that with a $30 model).
Back to the HR10, could it be that there is more corrupted guide data afloat? Could someone in power with a desire to see the HR10 go away or become discredited be sabotaging it?

Tivo could want it to not perform so people might switch to the Series 3. They're involved here. DTV, I'm not sure how sabotaging would be a better approach than simply swapping everyone out in an upfront way, but i suppose it's possible.
Both conspiracy paths seem a little ridiculous though. I vote incompetence.

Hahaha...am I the only one who thought this was funny? :p
This has been an issue for two months. Thought it was cured with the b update but it just came back. Second Lost from next Wednesday (there are back to back new eps) and CSI from Thursday were both not scheduled because of the phony "someone in the house modified ...".
I had called this in to DTV before and after first indicating that it was the first time they have heard of this (don't they always?) they then directed me to their own tech forum. I was told that this forum is the only way an issue gets any traction. I started a thread and it soon became the forum's busiest. Of course DTV has yet to reply or offer any solution, timeline ... really anything.

Just got off the phone with advanced tech help @ D*...joy. Usual runaround with the promise that it was being escalated. Jeesh, if I wasn't in an MDU, and I could get FIOS, I would be so gone from this D* junk.

No, SNL had an (awful) new episode. They did have one funny mock commercial though for Urigro, a new drug that helps people with low urine flow.

Can you post a link to that thread on the DirecTV forum? After poking around for a while, I couldn't find it.

I also thought the problem was solved and had no problems for a couple of weeks. Yesterday I noticed that the 2/5 episode of Two-and-a-half Men wouldn't record because "someone in my household...."

I noticed in the history that one of my recordings did not record because "someone in your house modified...". But it was in my now playing list. So I looked at future recordings and noticed in the future the same problem was happening on the same season pass yet it was in the to do list. It doesn't make any sense but there it is.

UPDATE:
D*'s solution: Unplug for several minutes, plug back in, then then wait for up to a week for your box to call Tivo, (yes, TIVO, not D*), and download a new patch.

I performed a little experiment this morning that seemed to work. I went through my season pass list and found a few that had new episodes listed that wouldn't be recorded, even though they are new episodes. I then clicked on the button to modify the season pass options. (That may not be what it's called, but that's what it does). Once I moved to the following screen, I then moved the curser down to the next line, but made no changes. Then I moved it back up to record with these options (the first line on the screen). Once I clicked that, it went back to showing the upcoming episodes, with all of them checked. So, just by going into the season pass options screen I was able to get them back for each season pass. Don't know how long it will last, but it seems to take effect for at least the lenght of the current program guide....which is about 13 days out.
Maybe this will help other people also.

Yep. I too made that same discovery, and that's probably why I haven't experienced the issue the past couple weeks. Wanted to make sure it worked before posting. I didn't look at the 'To Do' list before making the change, so didn't know it made a difference until after the shows aired.

This is EXACTLY what adv tech support @ D* told me to do last night. I thought most of the users here would get a kick out of it. Sorry for confusing anyone.
