Received a waiver for NBC the other day and I can't believe how bad the HD is :( Is this the norm? Studio 60 actually looked better on the SD feed.

In my opinion, NBC is, by far, the worst of the major networks. I can't tell you how disappointed I was when NBC bought the rights to the Sunday night football games.

So, to answer your question... It's pretty much the norm. At least in my experience.

Agreed. SNF was a joke this season!

Yeah Nbc has some serious problems. It's a never ending discussion at avs forums as to why it's so bad,

I don't think it's too bad via OTA here in Buffalo. ABC is definitely better IMHO, but NBC isn't unwatchable.

The NY NBC HD feed on channel 82 is constantly suffering from audio dropouts and video macroblocking on my HR10. Are others seeing this on their DirecTV HD Tivos?

Every night on NBC Nightly News. Some days worse than other, but messed up every night, bar none.

I've been seeing this a ton of late -- mostly the last week or so. At first I thought it was a dish problem. We had snow/sleet/freezing rain and I thought my dish my be covered. But it's not, and the problem is pretty much isolated to NBC 82. Lots of audio dropouts -- and they're not the 1-second variety that we're all kind a used to. These can last several seconds and are often accompanied by macroblocking to the point the picture freezes or disappears altogether.

Anyone called D* on this issue?

Still a problem on Ch 82.

Is this only at certain times? I've been watching the new Andy Richter comedy without a problem. I, as well as others, have more problems with ABC HD. Half the screen goes green for a few seconds.

Yes, NBC is terrible in HD. Just as bad in SD. Most of their shows aren't funny, aren't entertaining, and aren't worth going out of my way to see.

Oh.... wait, you were referring to the quality of their HD, not to the quality of their programming? Nevermind. :p

Watching the golf tournament today and it seemed like that only some cameras were having breakup problems. I wonder if a piece of equipment on the course is the problem.
